I don’t know about the rest of you, but every summer I get bitten by the reading bug. Maybe it’s the mix of summer vacations or the lack of back to back holidays. I just tend to read more during the summer months. I generally ask my friends what is the last good book they have read. My BFF and her mother own stock in Barnes & Noble so when I’m in town, I raid their personal library. I put out a tweet recently looking for a good book and a friend in Chicago recommended The Help by Kathryn Stockett.
I just finished the book yesterday. It was a great fiction story about the life of black maids and the families they worked for. It was set in the 1960’s in Jackson, Mississippi. I hate when book reviews give away to much of the book, but just know that it is a National Bestseller. I truly enjoyed it and my mom got wrapped in the book after chapter one.
