I went out-of-town this weekend, so I prayed for it to rain while I was gone.

We got a little rain and my plants survived the heat wave.

As soon as I got in a checked the deck. Here is my first RED tomato. Super excited.

One day I’ll have a backyard with a real garden. Until then, the deck will do.

I think I have three too many tomato plants.

My MawMaw (grandmother) came to visit and said “You have blooms everywhere. You will have tomatoes soon. ”

A few days later, I figured out what she meant.

Once a flower blooms on a tomato plant, a little tomato comes out right behind it. It’s like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly but WAY BETTER!

I may have more tomatoes than I can use, maybe I can set up a tomato table at the Farmer’s Market.

This is my first attempt at growing anything since my Earth Science Class days.

I planted 3 different types of tomato seeds.

Then I got worried and wanted tomatoes REALLY bad this summer. So, I purchased a Roma Tomato plant from Home Depot.

My Romas are coming in everywhere! It is gonna be a tasty summer.

Here is the evolution of my Dwarf Sunflower.

This is my moody orchid.
DSC_5542

I purchased this plant at the local nursery about two months ago.

DSC_5544

It was blooming when I purchased it, the blooms died about two days later.

DSC_5545

I kept watering it and the next batch of blooms turned yellow and died. Before I got angry and threw it away, I moved it downstairs.

DSC_5548

It apparently loves its new home and began to bloom the day I left to go out of town. How evil is that?!?!

Anyone else have any garden updates?
